Chapter 07

The Forge & Shards

The Forge is where spare cards become new ones. You melt duplicates into shards — a crafting currency that's completely separate from berries — then spend shards to forge a guaranteed card of a rarity you choose.

Shards are not berries
You can't buy, sell, or earn shards from expeditions. The only source is melting duplicate cards. Berries and shards are never interchangeable.

Shard yields from melting

Each melted duplicate returns shards based on its rarity — rarer cards melt into far more. Animated Creator cards earn a small salvage premium on top.

Mythic can't be forged
Mythic is intentionally hunt-only — it never comes from the Forge. That keeps it scarce and protects its value as the top sellable tier on the Marketplace.

The reveal moment

Forging (and collecting an expedition, and the daily reward) ends in a reveal: the screen dims, the card flips into view with a rarity-coloured burst, and the name lands. Higher rarity means a bigger burst — the game's signature payoff.
